Updates

It's been awhile since I updated this webpage so let's get into what's new.

1) I'm playing every Sunday night with the Alex Jenkins Trio (as far as I know we're not related, but who knows). We play from 9:30 to 12:00 at The Shady Lady on 14th and R in Sacramento. Come on down and check it out.

2) I'm also playing the 2nd and 4th Fridays with the irrepressible Harley White Jr. Orchestra at the Shady Lady and the 3rd Wed of the month at Savannah's Jazz Club in San Francisco.

3) The Ganbare Spirits is still in the Studio working on our upcoming CD. I'm busy trying to finish writing all the music, but we've had a couple of studio dates and have some good stuff. Those who have been following our music are in for some surprises with new arrangements of some of the songs you're familiar with. I'm hoping to finish recording this summer, but getting all these great (and therefore busy) musicians in the studio on the same day is..... ..... ..... tricky.)

I'll try to post more soon, and maybe even some studio out-takes.

Until then Keep up the Ganbare Spirit!!!

Ganbare Spirits Dec Show Postponed

The Final concert in the Ganbare Spirits 07/08 Concert Season (Dec 6th 08) is unfortunately going to be postponed while we look for a new venue. The Vet's Memorial has decided, yet again, to raise it's rates.
So, we will have to wait to find a venue that can house enough people and have decent acoustics and still allow me to pay the band a fair wage. Come back soon for more info.
For those who need some GANBARE SPIRIT in these tough times, check out the music page for some tunes from out last concert.

Thanks for supporting the Ganbare Spirits and check back soon for more music and info.

The third concert of The Ganbare Spirits Ensemble 2007/08 Concert Season is coming up on:

SATURDAY SEPT 20th 8pm
at the Veterans Memorial Theater
203 E. 14th St. in Davis, Ca. 95616

(see calendar dates for more info)

At this concert, The Ganbare Spirits will take you on a musical journey which will include stops throughout the world. Then, onwards into a dark and slightly scary forest in Japan circa 1850. Other stops along the way will also include an homage to the old New Orleans, listening to late night birds in Philadelphia and a truly wild game of hopscotch in Davis.

The lobby doors open at 7:30pm
The show starts at 8:00pm

Make sure you come and join us for wine and snacks at the pre-concert party.
